By substitution, a thiocyanate containing the complex anion [Cr(SCN)(4
)(Benztriazole)(2)](-) was prepared from anhydrous K-3[Cr(SCN)(6)] and
benztriazole in the absence of solvents. The formation of salts using
hydrochlorides of heterocyclic amines, alkaloids and Co(III)-amine co
nfirms the structure of the above anion. Thermal stabilities and tile
mechanism of pyrolysis were investigated thermogravimetrically. For th
e clarification of structural problems, UV and IR spectra mere recorde
