Abstract
Leaf protein content and net photosynthetic rate (P-N) were estimated at monthly intervals in seven tropical deciduous tree species, namely Chukrasia tabularis, Dolichandrone atrovirens, Eugenia jambolana, Gmel ina arborea, Lannea coromandelica, Terminalia arjuna and Terminalia be llerica from September 1990 to August 1991. Among the seven tree speci es examined, Terminalia arjuna exhibited a significant positive correl ation (r = 0.81; p < 0.05) between leaf protein content and PN while i n others it was found insignificant.
