Abstract
The free electron laser-peniotron hybrid is studied. It is shown by co mputer simulations that the free electron laser-peniotron hybrid, with the synchronous condition omega - (k(w)+k(parallel to))upsilon(parall el to)-omega(c) approximate to 0, is a strong interaction, and has an efficiency as high as that of the peniotron. The interaction of the fr ee electron laser-peniotron hybrid is compared with that of the free e lectron laser-cyclotron hybrid. (C) 1995 American Institute of Physics .
