N. Chakrabarti et al., PHOTOINDUCED DESORPTION IN NO PT - A TIME-DEPENDENT QUANTUM-MECHANICAL STUDY/, Chemical physics letters, 242(4-5), 1995, pp. 490-498
We have carried out a TDQM study of photoinduced desorption in NO/Pt b
y involving hot electron transfer and allowing different residence tim
es (tau(R)) On the excited state potential-energy surface. The desorpt
ion probability (P-des) is dependent on tau(R), but it is clear from t
he results that the substantial P-des can be accounted for by assuming
tau(R) is in the range 20-60 fs. The study also accounts for vibratio
nal excitation in the desorbed NO.
