VALIDITY OF THE NARZISSMUSINVENTAR

For investigating the validity of the Narzissmusinventar 27 somatic an d psychic healthy men aged between 30 and 45 were tested with the Narz issmusinventar, the Fragebogen zur Erfassung von Aggressivitatsfaktore n, the State-Trait-Angstinventar and the Fragebogen zur Messung der Ko ntrollambitionen. Moreover a structured interview for the evaluation o f type A behavior was administered. Correlative statistical analyses s howed in the sense of construct validity that the dimension of the ''b edrohtes Selbst'' (''threatened self'') is characterized by anxiety, f eelings of insufficiency and aggression. The other subscales of the Na rzissmusinventar correlate only with a few variables of the other test s and the speaking behavior. These subscales evaluate the narcissistic personality traits which the other instruments we used in our investi gation are not able to reflect.
