K. Chaneching et al., NONLINEAR-OPTICAL PROPERTIES OF POLYMERS BEARING PENDENT PHOSPHINE OXIDE CHROMOPHORES, Chemical physics letters, 242(6), 1995, pp. 598-603
Polymethacrylates and polyurethanes containing covalently bound organo
phosphorus NLO chromophores have been synthesized and characterized. T
hese polymers contain a high concentration of NLO chromophores. Film s
amples obtained by spin coating and poled by the corona method show la
rge second harmonic coefficients (d(33) = 70 to 135 pm V-1) measured a
t 1064 nm. The bulky size and the local polarity of the diphenylphosph
oryl acceptor group contribute to the high glass transition temperatur
e (T-g = 120 to 163 degrees C) and to the good temporal stability of t
hese materials.
