Rotationally resolved photodissociation spectra of CoKr+ have been obs
erved for an electronic transition in the isolated ion. Analysis yield
s rotational, constants and the angular momentum (spin plus orbit) for
both states in the transition. The bond length in vibrationless level
of the ground state of this ion is determined to be r(0) = 2.447 +/-
0.005 Angstrom with a rotational structure consistent with a (3) Delta
(3) electronic state. Excited-state diabatic dissociation limits enabl
e the determination of the adiabatic binding energy of ground state of
CoKr+ as D-0 = 5405 +/- 15 cm(-1). These data are discussed in compar
ison with similar observations in CoAr+ and CoXe+.
