Abstract
The chemiluminescence (CL) can be produced in some exergonic chemical reactions, involving free radicals or electronically excited intermedi ates. As CL-generating system, the reaction between luminol and hydrog en peroxide in TRIS-HCl buffer, pH = 8.3 was used. The addition of fer rous ions in the range of 0.01 - 1 mu M produces a significant increas e of CL emission. The presence of Fe(III) ions induced a less signific ant increase of emission.
