N. Nakashima et Y. Narikiyo, SUPERSTRUCTURE FORMATION OF A SYNTHETIC LIPID BEARING A POLY(ETHYLENEGLYCOL) HEAD GROUP WITH ALPHA-CYCLODEXTRIN, Chemistry Letters, (8), 1995, pp. 653-654
Mixing of an aqueous bilayer of an artificial nonionic lipid bearing a
poly(ethylene glycol) as the hydrophilic head group with alpha-cyclod
extrin(alpha-CD) was found to produce a stable crystalline inclusion c
omplex which possessed the fundamental bilayer characteristic (phase t
ransition) for the first time. H-1-NMR spectra of the complex showed t
hat 2.2 +/- 0.1 ethylene glycol units in the lipid were captured in on
e alpha-CD molecule.
