Abstract
R(2)SiT(2) type of compounds (R = alkyl, aryl, OMe; T = tropolonato) h ave been found to hold rather exceptionally hexacoordinate dialkyl- an d diarylsilicon geometry with two bidentate tropolonato ligands both i n the solid state and in solution. A facile intramolecular stereoisome rization of these neutral hexacoordinate silicon compounds was observe d by temperature dependent NMR spectroscopy in solution.
