The pyramidellid fauna of the Faroe Islands is surveyed. Material coll
ected during the BIOFAR and BIOICE programs, the collections in the Zo
ological museum in Copenhagen as well as collections made by the autho
r are reported. Most of the pyramidellid material mentioned in ''The Z
oology of The Faroes'' has been reexamined. The following species are
now known from the Faroe Islands: Odostomia unidentata (MONTAGU, 1803)
; Odostomia turrita HANLEY, 1844; Brachystomia eulimoides (HANLEY, 184
4); Ondina divisa (J. ADAMS, 1797); Ondina perezi (DAUTZENBERG and FIS
HER, 1925); Ondina diaphana (JEFFREYS, 1848); Chrysallida eximia (JEFF
REYS, 1849); Chrysallida pellucida (DILLWYN, 1817); Chrysallida sublus
tris (FRIELE, 1886); Eulimella ventricosa (FORBES, 1844); Eulimella sc
illae (SCACCHI, 1835); and Eulimella ataktos WAREN, 1991. A key for th
e identification of the Faroese pyramidellids is presented. Odostomia
acuta JEFFREYS, 1848 not found in any Faroese material, but commonly m
isidentified is figured.
