The mechanism of CO hydrogenation to CH4 over Ni catalysts was studied
by response method of differential pulses and BOC-MP method, It was s
uggested that the dissociation of CO under the promotion of hydrogen w
as favorable over Ni(111), whereas the direct dissociation of CO was f
avorable over Ni(100), Moreover, it was shown that hydrogenation of su
rface C to CH species was the rate-determining step.
