S. Toyoshima et al., EXCRETION FROM RATS OF KETONE-BODIES AND METHYLMALONIC ACID IN URINE RESULTING FROM DIETARY VITAMIN-B-12 DEFICIENCY, Bioscience, biotechnology, and biochemistry, 59(8), 1995, pp. 1598-1599
Ketone bodies were assayed in the urine of ten-week-old vitamin B-12-d
eficient rats by a high-performance liquid chromatography, The urinary
excretion of ketone bodies (352.5 +/- 68.3 mu mol/day) as well as of
methylmalonic acid was increased significantly by dietary vitamin B-12
deficiency.
