Abstract
Ketone bodies were assayed in the urine of ten-week-old vitamin B-12-d eficient rats by a high-performance liquid chromatography, The urinary excretion of ketone bodies (352.5 +/- 68.3 mu mol/day) as well as of methylmalonic acid was increased significantly by dietary vitamin B-12 deficiency.
