Abstract
Dinychus greensladeae sp.n. (Acarina: Dinychidae) is described from sp ecimens collected in Tasmanian forests. The new species is similar to D. perforatus Kramer and D. carinatus Berlese, but differs from them i n several morphological features, especially the very long anterior pr ocess on the epigynial shield of the female. This is the first record of Dinychidae Berlese and Dinychus Kramer from the southern hemisphere .
