Intranodal myofibroblastoma (IM) is a recently delineated clinicopatho
logic entity represented by a myofibroblastic proliferation of the lym
ph node. It usually occurs at the groin and presents clinically as a s
ingle enlarged lymph node. Its clinical behavior is entirely benign an
d local excision is curative. The authors herein report a case of IM d
iagnosed by aspiration biopsy cytology (ABC). The main diagnostic clue
s to the cytologic diagnosis of this entity as well as the differentia
l diagnosis are presented. (C) 1995 Wiley-Liss, Inc.
