The model of plastic deformation in amorphous systems based on the con
cept of pointlike structural defects is investigated in the three-dime
nsional case. The yielding limit is calculated and the propagation of
shear bands is investigated. The relation between the structural defec
ts and the low-frequency localized vibration modes is also discussed.
