Abstract
A mechanical model for the microstructure of non-saturated porous medi a is constructed by means of the method of virtual work. An extension of Hill's theorem is obtained within the framework of 30-2D mixed mode lling. This result is applied to determining the macroscopic yield cri terion of such media through a homogenization approach.
