Abstract
The carbamylmethylenephosphonate adducts of uranyl bis(beta-diketonate s) of the type [UO2(($) over bar O ($) over bar O)(2) . CMP] and [{UO2 (($) over bar O ($) over bar O)(2)}(2) . CMP] (where ($) over bar O ($ ) over bar O = TTA or DBM; CMP = DBDECMP or DHDECMP) were prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and multinuclear NMR techniqu es. The spectral studies show that CMP acts as a monodentate ligand in [UO2(($) over bar O ($) over bar O)(2) . CMP] complexes and coordinat es through the:phosphoryl oxygen atom, whereas it acts as a bridging b identate ligand in [{UO2(($) over bar O ($) over bar O)(2)}(2) . CMP] complexes and coordinates through both the carbonyl and phosphoryl oxy gen atoms.
