Abstract
We have studied a model of a nonlinear, axisymmetric alpha-omega galac tic dynamo acting on a mixed field (quadrupole and dipole) in the geom etry of an oblate spheroid. Our calculations demonstrate that the nonl inear interaction between modes of opposite parity can result in a tim e-dependent mixed mode solution.
