Photoinduced reaction occurring at an aqueous solution-semiconductor i
nterface was analyzed in situ by reflection FT-IR spectroscopy. The ph
otoinduced reflection spectral change, Delta R (= (R-R(0))/R(0)), was
recorded by using an IR cell consisting of a semiconductor (TiO2 or Cd
S) thin film electrode, a thin layer of aqueous (S)-lysine solution, a
nd a calcium fluoride window. Structure of adsorbed substrate and mech
anism of photoinduced reaction were discussed.
