Abstract
The eta(1)-alkenyl complexes [eta(5)-C5H5(CO)(2)Fe(CH2)(n)CH=CH2] (n = 2 and 3) have been prepared by the reaction of Na[eta(5)-C5H5(CO)(2)F e] with 4-bromo-1-butene and 5-bromo-1-pentene respectively. The react ivity of the sigma-olefin complexes in hydrogenation, hydroboration an d hydroformylation reactions are reported as are reactions with Lewis acids such as TiCl4 and the electrophile HCl.
