Abstract
The TiCl4-mediated reaction of allyltrimethylsilane and anhydrides yie lds alkyldiallylcarbinols. In the case of the diallylsilane 1,8-bis(tr imethylsilyl)octa-2,6-diene and cyclic anhydrides, spiro-lactones resu lting from a gem-diallylation are obtained with high stereoselectivity .
