Abstract
Measurements of the saturation magnetization of amorphous Fe78Si9B13 a nd Fe76Si8B16 as a function of temperature and also as a function of t he duration of heating the materials at selected temperatures were mad e. The results suggest that the crystallization of Fe78Si9B13 takes pl ace in two stages, whereas the one of Fe76Si8B16 in three. Since, duri ng the initial stage of crystallization, regions of b.c.c. Fe(Si) ace- formed, measurements of the saturation magnetization of the FeaSi1-a ( a = 1, 0.9 and 0.75) were also carried out, in order to render possibl e the calculation of the activation energy of the initial crystallizat ion.
