M. Lompo et al., EMPLACEMENT OF A GRANITE PLUTON IN THE BR ITTLE BIRIMIAN CRUST - MAGNETIC FABRIC OF THE TENKODOGO MASSIF (BURKINA-FASO), Comptes rendus de l'Academie des sciences. Serie II. Sciences de la terre et des planetes, 320(12), 1995, pp. 1211-1218
Field observations, structural measurements and anisotropy of magnetic
susceptibility measurements have contributed to define the main featu
res of a granite massif which was emplaced late within the Eburnean ma
gmatic complex of the Lower Proterozoic of West Africa. It is conclude
d that the magma infilled a gash in the brittle crust. This opening in
the crust possibly formed as a jog along a sinistrally offset NE-SW f
racture, one of many that affect the Birimian basement of eastern Burk
ina Faso.
