Abstract
Family relationship quality, not parental alcohol use, predicted level s of depression and self-esteem in 201 college students. Witnessing sp ousal abuse was related to increased depression in adult children of a lcoholics, while poorer family relationship quality was associated wit h lower self-esteem, suggesting that the experience of paternal alcoho lism is not uniform among offspring.
