Abstract
Perfectionism is included in, or associated with, many of the traits i n the documented ACOA personality profile. The Almost Perfect Scale pe rfectionism scores of 36 ACOA clients at a university counseling cente r were compared with those of 173 nonclinical, nonACOA university stud ents. No statistically significant difference was found between the cl inical and comparison groups on the standards and order subscale of th e APS. However, the ACOA group showed significantly higher scores on t he three subscales of the APS designed to measure maladaptive dimensio ns of perfectionism: procrastination, anxiety, and problems with relat ionships.
