Abstract
Using affine Bruhat-Tits buildings, ive associate certain subshifts of
finite type to systems arising from the action of a Cartan subgroup o
f a p-adic semisimple Chevalley group on compact quotient spaces T\G.
These are used to study the resulting dynamical systems.
