With an automated very high-temperature calorimeter, the enthalpy of f
ormation of the ternary liquid system [Co+Ga+In] has been measured bet
ween 1440 and 1564 K over a large molar fraction range. From the entha
lpy of formation of the binary liquid systems (Ga+In, Co+Ga and Co+In)
previously obtained, the ternary enthalpies of formation have been es
timated by using several well-known relations. Calculated and experime
ntal results have been compared. Moreover points of the liquidus surfa
ce of the Co+Ga+In system have been determined and some isotherms of t
he ternary phase diagram have been proposed.
