Abstract
The ternary system Au-Ga-Te has been studied by differential thermal a nalysis, differential scanning calorimetry, X-ray powder diffraction a nalysis and metallography. No definite ternary compound was found. Fiv e isoplethic sections, AuTe2-Ga2Te3, AuGa2-GaTe, AuGa-GaTe, gamma-GaTe and gamma-Ga2Te3 are quasi-binary sections. The establishment of the ternary equilibria phase diagram of fourteen isoplethic sections has m ade it possible to determine the layout of the eutectic valleys, the p ositions of the eutectic values and ternary invariants and thus delimi t a liquid miscibility gap.
