Abstract
This paper presents a novel Josephson converter to perform signal conv ersion from binary system to ternary system. Most df the converters ha ve performed conversion in successive steps from the least significant bit to the most significant bit. Therefore, the circuits become compl icated and operation speed becomes low. In order to overcome these sho rtcomings, a novel converter based on Josephson technology is proposed . The principle of the converter is described in detail and the simula tion results for the proposed converter with 8 bits are illustrated wi th a satisfactory operation. The advantages of this converter are the simple construction with a small number of elements and the high speed operation.
