Cb. Whan et Cj. Lobb, COMPLEX DYNAMICAL BEHAVIOR IN RCL-SHUNTED JOSEPHSON-JUNCTIONS, IEEE transactions on applied superconductivity, 5(2), 1995, pp. 3094-3097
We present numerical simulation results on the dynamical behavior of r
esistively, capacitively and inductively shunted Josephson tunnel junc
tions (RCLSJ). We found Josephson oscillations, chaotic oscillations,
subharmonic oscillations and relaxation oscillations dominate the dyna
mics of the circuit in this order as we increase the inductance of the
shunt. Long apparently chaotic transient states were found in the int
ermediate range values of the shunt inductance. Difficulties in compar
ing simulation with experiments due to the existence of the long trans
ients are discussed.
