MAKING THE DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENT OF A LZHEIMERS-DISEASE AND THERAPEUTIC POSSIBILITIES

This article reviews the diagnostic procedure when mailing the clinica l diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease and presents an overview on the the rapeutic possibilities. In the first part ot the paper, physical, psyc hiatric and neuropsychological examinations as well as laboratory and apparative tests are described which must be applied when a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease is under discussion. In the second part of the article, the pharmacological possibilities when treating this desease will be mentioned. Approaches to the treatment of cognitive core sympt oms as well as therapeutic strategies with respect to secondary psychi atric symptoms will be discussed.
