Densities rho and speeds of sound u have been measured for {x(1)CH(3)(
CH2)(3)OH + x(2)CH(3)(CH2)(4)CH3 + (1 - x(1) - x(2))CH3(CH2)(3)NH2}, a
nd the corresponding mixtures {xCH(3)(CH2)(3)OH + (1 - x)CH3(CH2)(4)CH
3}, {xCH(3)(CH2)(3)OH + (1 - x)CH3(CH2)(3)NH2}, and {xCH(3)(CH2)(4)CH3
+ (1 - x)CH3(CH2)(3)NH2}, at T = 298.15 K. Using these results, the i
sentropic compressibilities kappa(s), the excess isentropic compressib
ilities kappa(s)(E), and the speed of sound deviations Delta u, have b
een calculated for both the binary mixtures and the ternary system. Ex
cess isentropic compressibilities and the speed of sound deviations ha
ve been fitted with the Redlich-Kister equation in the case of binary
mixtures, while Cibulka's equation was used to fit the values relating
to the ternary system. (C) 1997 Academic Press Limited
