The kinetics of radiation-induced graft copolymerization of vinyl acet
ate onto ethylene-copropylene rubber (EPR) membrane has been studied i
n methanol with a radiation source of cobalt-60. The effect of monomer
concentration, dose rate, Cu2+ concentration and temperature on the g
rafting rate were investigated. The results show that the functional r
elationship equation is dg(0)/dt = k[M](1.95)(0) D[Cu2+](0.5). The app
arent activation energy and collision frequency factor of the grafting
polymerization are 49 kJ mol(-1) and 8.9 x 10(8)G% kGy(-1) h(-1) mol(
