Abstract
First-stage Dirofilaria larvae were found infecting the Malpighian tub ules in 3 of 163 Aedes albopictus collected from New Orleans, LA, duri ng June-July 1994. Further studies will be necessary to provide defini tive identification of the parasite species, and to better describe th e vectorial status of Ae. albopictus.
