Abstract
This article consists of three parts. First a short introduction to th e subject is given, followed by the discussion of the most important i nternet application. In this context Gopher, Veronica, Telnet, Archie, anonymous FTP, electronic discussion groups and the World Wide Web is mentioned. The last part deals with tips for useful starting points f or searching information in the internet.
