J. Haluska et I. Sujan, ECONOMETRIC-ANALYSIS OF THE SELECTED MACR OECONOMIC INDICATORS OF THESLOVAK ECONOMY DURING 1991-1993, Ekonomicky casopis, 43(5), 1995, pp. 383-398
The paper presents the results of the analysis of three macroeconomic
indicators of the Slovak economy - inflation, wages and labour product
ivity - 1991-1993. From the methodological point of view the results o
f model analysis based on the econometric approach is the matter. The
analysis of direct influences affecting the development of the observe
d indicators was done by means of single equation econometric models.
By the simulation of a minimodel, the core of which is formed by the m
entioned single equation models, the interrelationships among inflatio
n, wages and employment as well as the overall direct and indirect inf
luences affecting the development of the given indicators were estimat
ed. According to the analysis results the economic development of the
Slovak Republic from the point of view of the inflation and the relati
onship between the average wage and labour productivity was quite sati
sfactory during the observed period. The development has neither revea
led nor created conditions of explosive wage-price inflation spiral as
well as of undesirable lead growth rate of average wage before labour
productivity.
