Abstract
New polyenes are formed in protic media via nickel catalyzed cooligome rization of butadiene with methyl acrylate. High activities are achiev ed with amino-phosphinite ligands in aprotic solvent. Using a deuteriu m labeled ligand, the presence of the NH group of the ligand is shown to be the key point for the proton transfer involved in the mechanism.
