This is the third in a series of office visitations to observe the pra
ctices of well-known dermatologic surgeons. The author performs these
techniques himself and has written this article through the eyes of an
experienced surgeon observing the work of a well-known colleague. Alt
hough my technique and philosophy differ somewhat from what is describ
ed herein, I have objectively described the surgical preferences of my
host surgeon. Other dermatologic surgeons will recognize that there a
re alternate methods for performing these procedures. Hopefully the ex
periences reported here will add to the knowledge of all those who per
form these surgeries.
