Abstract
The leaf-feeding beetle Weiseana barkeri Jacoby feeds on Acacia niloti ca (L.) Willdenow ex Delile in Kenya. Host specificity tests show it i s host specific to A. nilotica and approval has been given for its fie ld release in northwest Queensland. A novel rearing and host specifici ty-testing technique is reported where A. nilotica foliage stimulates oviposition into strips of corrugated cardboard.
