Abstract
Modern PD measurement resources are tremendously more powerful than we re those available 30 to 40 years ago. However, we still have to face some old problems in equipment diagnostics as well as certain new ones . A major reason are misconceptions and fuzzy concepts. The emphasis n ow is on improved scientific understanding to enable rational and prod uctive conclusions to be derived from today's powerful PD diagnostics.
