Ba2-xSrx Ti-9 O-20 ceramics have been synthesised by conventional soli
d state reaction for compositions covering the full solid solution ran
ge (0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 2.0). The microwav
e dielectric properties, such as the dielectric constant epsilon(r), q
uality factor Q(u), and the temperature coefficient of resonant freque
ncy tau(f), were measured for the different compositions and were foun
d to increase from 39 to 162 and from -20 to +204 ppm K-1 for epsilon(
r) and tau(r), respectively, with increase in strontium content. The p
hase constitution and microstructure were examined by X-ray diffractio
