Abstract
The asymptotic method is used for the study of the mechanical behaviou r of adhesively bonded joints. The adherents are linear elastic solids , bonded together by a thin viscoplastic film. The solution is given o f the limit problem of an adhesive having a vanishing thickness. Exist ence of a unique limit solution and convergence of the asymptotic expa nsion towards the limit solution are shown, using an epi-convergence t heory.
