Abstract
In this paper, we describe a complete pattern recognition procedure fo r extracting and tracking magnetic features in solar images, using a m ulti-scale elastic matching. This procedure allows us to derive rotati onal and meridional motions with unequal:ed accuracy. Furthermore, usi ng multispectral images, 3-d structures are obtained that provide addi tional constraints on the temporal evolution.
