Sj. Michereff et al., GREENHOUSE SCREENING OF TRICHODERMA ISOLATES FOR CONTROL OF CURVULARIA LEAF-SPOT OF YAM, Mycopathologia, 130(2), 1995, pp. 103-108
Ten Trichoderma isolates were studied under greenhouse conditions as p
otential agents for biocontrol of yam leaf spot, caused by Curvularia
eragrostidis. The Trichoderma isolates demonstrated high efficiency of
disease control. Application of the antagonists on the same day as C.
eragrostidis inoculation showed the best results. One isolate achieve
d 75 percent disease severity reduction. The survival of the Trichoder
ma isolates decreased after its application on the phylloplane with va
lues of 57 and 41 percent at the 49th day, in the absence and presence
of the phytopathogen respectively. The antagonism persisted well agai
nst C. eragrostidis, the TN1 isolate praises 89 percent.
