[Au(SR)](6) (R = C(6)H(2)Me(3)-2,4,6 or C6H2Pr3i-2,4,6), prepared by t
reatment of chloroauric acid in water with thiodiglycol followed by re
action with the appropriate thiol(HSR) in CHCl3, can add PPh(3) in CH2
Cl2 to give [Au(SR)(PPh(3))], which, alternatively, can be obtained fr
om reaction of [AuCl(PPh(3))] in THF with HSR in the presence of KOH-E
tOH. The molecular structure of [Au(SC6H2Pr3i-2,4,6) (PPh(3))] has bee
n determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
