IMAGE-ENHANCEMENT WITH EMPHASIS ON ADAPTIVE ENHANCEMENT AND DEENHANCEMENT

Enchancement of digital images is done to improve the subjective quali ty of images. There are several domain and frequency domain techniques such as spatial smoothing, edge enchancement, gray level rescaling fo r contrast enchancement, enchancement using fuzzy sets, deenhancement and frequency domain filtering. This paper gives a review of the adapt ive techniques of image contrast enchancement/deenhancement which has recently attracted the researchers, highlighting the contribution of t he authors mainly in the area of adaptive enchancement and deenhanceme nt.
