M. Touboul et al., CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF A NEW FORM OF CHROMIUM(III) VANADATE(V), CRVO4-I, European journal of solid state and inorganic chemistry, 32(6), 1995, pp. 577-588
The compound CrVO4-I is monoclinic (space group C2/m) with lattice par
ameters: a = 9.765(1)Angstrom, b = 8.818(3)Angstrom, c = 6.8224(9)Angs
trom, beta = 107.62(1)degrees and Z = 8. The crystal structure has bee
n solved and refined by analogy with the isomorphous compound InVO4(-)
I from X-ray powder diffraction data (R(F) = 0.061 for 695 reflections
). The structure consists of an infinite network of Cr4O16 clusters of
four edge-sharing CrO6 octahedra linked to the other clusters by VO4
tetrahedra. A comparison between the structures of CrVO4-I, InVO4-I an
d CrVO4 orthorhombic form (CrVO4-III) is reported.
