Abstract
The specificity of four monoclonal antibodies, raised against mammalia n ciliary axonemes, was determined by both immunofluorescence and immu noblot experiments. Three antibodies reacted with epitopes which are d ifferentially located along axonemal length. Among these, antibody 3.1 2 recognized an epitope common to different dynein heavy chains, react ed only with tracheal cilia and specifically stained the proximal port ion of the ciliary axoneme.
