Abstract
The influence of plant communities, on development of the Tiger butter fly Danaus chrysippus (Lepidoptera : Danaidae) was investigated under natural conditions. To see this effect, three locations were selected for the study of growth and food consumption by the larvae (i) planata tion (ii) grass land and (iii) open country side. The maximum growth a nd phytomass consumption were found in open fields, where the;larvae f ound suitable temperature and photoperiod.
